Peter E. Panzarello

Peter Panzarello, of Bayville, New Jersey, passed away February 24, 2026. Born and raised in Avenel, New Jersey, he then settled in Ocean County. 

Peter graduated from Woodbridge High School in 1967. Following graduation, he served in the United States Army from 1968 to 1970.  After moving to Ocean County, he worked for the Tom’s River Board of Education for 28 years, 25 of those being in the security department. 

Peter was an avid reader of many topics, as he loved history and participated in civil war reenactments. He also had an interest in playing guitar, the beach, and many other creative pursuits. 

Peter is pre deceased by his father, Peter Panzarello in 1974, his mother, Dina Panzarello in 1989, his brother, Nilo Filidei in 2020, and his twin sister, Patricia Funaro in 2025. 

He is survived by his three nieces, Danielle Boyle, Denise Psoinos, and Linda Funaro, nephew Anthony Funaro, sister in law Carol Filidei, great nieces and nephews, many cousins, friends, and coworkers.

He will be especially missed by his coworker and very close friend, Rob. Peter was Rob’s mentor and guide.
