Amber was born on January 9, 2004, and from her very first moments, she was surrounded by love. She was the cherished daughter of Ruth Mercedes and beloved sister to Armani Mercedes. At the age of two, Amber welcomed Daniel Pais into her life as her father, forming a deep and enduring bond built on love, trust, and devotion. Later, she embraced her role as a big sister to Amelia with pride, always offering guidance, protection, and unwavering support.
Amber’s vibrant personality left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She carried herself with warmth, compassion, and an infectious energy that could light up any room. She had a deep love for softball and brought dedication and heart to the field. Through cheerleading, she showcased her spirit, strength, and commitment, becoming not just a teammate but a source of encouragement and positivity to those around her.
Her academic journey began at Terence C. Reilly School in Elizabeth, NJ, where her curiosity and determination first began to shine. She continued her studies at Colonia High School, graduating in 2022 with pride and ambition for the future. Amber went on to attend Rutgers University – New Brunswick, pursuing a degree in Biological Sciences. She was preparing to complete her degree, a milestone that reflected her perseverance, intelligence, and dreams of making a meaningful impact in the world.
Amber’s life, though far too brief, was filled with love, purpose, and dedication. She will be remembered as a devoted daughter, a fiercely loving sister, a loyal friend, and a bright, hardworking young woman whose kindness touched countless lives. Her strength of character and generous spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her.
She is survived by her mother, Ruth Mercedes; her father, Daniel Pais; her brother, Armani Mercedes; and her sister, Amelia Pais. Though her absence leaves an immeasurable void, her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and community.
A public viewing will be held at Gosselin Funeral Home on Thursday, February 26, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a vigil beginning at 7:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of Amber’s beautiful life. A private funeral service will follow.
